This workshop is for those looking to deepen their backbend practice with greater clarity, precision, and confidence.
You’ll work progressively towards more advanced shapes, including dropbacks, with a strong focus on alignment, control, and breath. Through detailed instruction, hands-on adjustments, and intelligent use of props, you’ll learn how to access deeper backbends safely and sustainably.
Expect to break down the key actions that support backbends—opening the shoulders and hips, stabilising the lower back, and creating length through the front of the body—so you’re not just going deeper, but moving better.
Recommended for students with a regular yoga practice and some experience of Iyengar Yoga. Not suitable for complete beginners.
